The 2024 Fall Symposium will be Saturday, September 14 in Knob Noster, Missouri at the WPA-era dining lodge at Camp Shawnee at Knob Noster State Park.

The Symposium will begin with a diverse group of presentations at 9:20 a.m. Presentations will be followed by a catered picnic lunch at the dining lodge. Lunch catered by Alewels Country Meats in Warrensburg will be smoked chicken, pulled pork, au gratin potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, and rolls. Assorted home-made cookies and lemonade and tea will also be provided.

Following lunch, attendees will caravan to the Johnson County Historical Society Complex in Warrensburg for a guided tour of the various exhibits and buildings (such as the original 1842 courthouse) that comprise the complex. The field trip cost is $5, which supports the Historical Society in their efforts.

The Symposium is free and open to the public, but lunch and field trip tickets must be purchased by the attendee(s). Pre-registration is required for those joining us for lunch and or the field trip; an RSVP is requested for those attending, but not having lunch. There is no cost to attend. Registration materials will be emailed to all members and will also be available on the MAS website. Be sure to make plans to attend and learn more about topics relative to the archaeology of Missouri.
